Big freakin’ guns! These are what the Doom 3 BFG Edition will be bringing to the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC by fall according to Bethesda Softworks.

Included in the package are the original Doom 3 game and the Resurrection of Evil pack. These two games will be re-mastered and will include seven additional single The Lost Mission player levels. The games will be 3D optimized and will feature surround sound, PlayStation 3 trophies, Xbox 360 achievements, enhanced lighting and rendering, improved controls to enhance console play along with a new save system that will allow a smoother game progression.

An armor-mounted flashlight will be added to the Doom 3 BFG Edition which will allow players to light up dark corners while sending enemies to make their maker.

According to the id Software technical director, John Carmack, Doom 3 was well-accepted by gamers around the world. The Doom 3 BFG Edition will enhance the entire gaming experience and bring it to new levels as it brings a faster frame rate and enhanced controls to different gaming platforms. The gaming experience is further enhanced with the support for 3D television, monitors as well as head-mounted screen displays.

Gamers around the world will likely embrace Doom 3 BFG Edition in the same way they made Doom 3 among the most popular games in the world.

In addition to the enhanced gaming experience, the Doom 3 BFG Edition package will also come with the original Doom game as well as Doom 2, which were the pioneers in the first-person shooting game genre and were developed by id Software.
