The much-awaited Asus Transformer Infinity Pad is set to be released by Asus near the end of June or at the start of the next month according to a spokeswoman from the company.

The Asus Transformer Infinity Pad will feature a 10.1-inch screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1200. The upcoming device will also feature a quad-core Tegra 3 processor from Nvidia for models that will not feature 3G / 4G network support. On the other hand a dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor from Qualcomm will be featured on models that come with 3G / 4G network support.

The upcoming Asus Transformer Infinity Pad will also feature the Android 4.0 operating system from Google.

The Asus Transformer Infinity Pad was initially unveiled during the Mobile World Congress last February in Barcelona. Reports have indicated that the price tag and the release schedule for the device may be revealed in the upcoming Computex trade show that is scheduled to be held in Taiwan in the coming week.

Although the resolution of the new iPad of Apple is better than that of the Asus Transformer Infinity Pad, it is still better to other Android-powered tablets that are currently available in the market. In comparison to the resolution of the display of the upcoming Asus Transformer Infinity Pad, the ten-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 and the Asus Transformer Pad 300 have a resolution of only 1280 by 800.

The 178-degree viewing angle of the Asus Transformer Infinity Pad makes it easy to view content on the device from numerous angles. The Corning Gorilla Glass 2 technology also makes the display scratch resistant and quite durable event as it maintains a slim design.

The Asus Transformer Infinity Pad also comes with an 8MP rear-facing camera and a 2MP front-facing camera. The upcoming device also features a ten-hour battery life which can be extended by using the optional keyboard dock which adds another six hours of usage.

The maximum external storage of the Asus Transformer Infinity Pad is at 64GB and it also features a microSD memory card reader as well as a USB and HDMI port.

With the reports of a shortage in the S4 chips of Qualcomm, the 3G / 4G model of the Asus Transformer Infinity Pad may face some delays in its release into the market.
