Following
the introduction of the Microsoft Surface tablet by the software giant
recently, a number of questions have emerged on the release date of the device
as well as its possible price tag.
For the
moment no official announcements were made on the release date or the possible
price tag of the Microsoft Surface tablet however some speculations have
started to emerge. Aside from the possible price tag, speculations have also
emerged on the connectivity options and the battery life of the upcoming
device.
Reports have
hinted at the possibility that the Microsoft Surface tablet will only feature
Wi-Fi connectivity and will not offer cellular connections. This does not bode
well for the device since the new iPad of Apple was unveiled featuring 4G LTE
network support.
Another report
has also hinted at the possible price tag of the soon-to-be-released Microsoft
Surface tablet. According to sources among notebook players, the upcoming
tablet will have a$599 price tag for the Windows RT model while the Windows 8
Pro model will be priced at around $799.
In
comparison, the Wi-Fi only models of the iPad have a price tag of $499, $599,
and $699 for the 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB models respectively.
Despite a
reported Wi-Fi only connectivity option, the battery life of the upcoming
Microsoft Surface tablet will not be as high as one would expect.
According to
reports the battery life of the Windows RT powered model of the Microsoft
Surface tablet will have a battery life of around 7.5 hours, which is lower
compared to the 10 hours of the iPad. The Windows 8 Pro model will be limited
to a 6-hour battery life, which is even lower than a good number of Ultrabooks.
Although
these are just speculations based on reports that have cited some anonymous
sources within the industry, it still gives potential owners of the Microsoft
Surface tablet an idea on what to expect once the device is finally released
into the market.
Yeah that's really a good analysis in terms of battery usage compared to iPad's tablet but regarding the core features the processor, the chipset Nvidia Tegra 3 and an Ivybridge processor I think the price for the Microsoft surface tablet is worth it.
