A tech-focused
blog based in Japan revealed that the next generation iPod Touch will likely
feature a taller LCD display as it cited Asia-based sources. According to
Macotakara, the upcoming model of the iPod Touch will have a four-inch display,
which is similar to the screen size of the upcoming iPhone 5.
However the
changes in the next generation iPod Touch may not be limited to the size of its
display since reports have also hinted at the possibility that it will use an
A5 processor instead of the A4 processor. This is the same processor used on
the current model of the iPhone.
The next
generation iPod Touch will reportedly come with similar features as the iPhone
4S and will also use a buffed aluminum back-case instead of the current
polished stainless steel design. Two color options will also be available for
possible users of the next generation iPod Touch, black and white.
Another
opening will also be added near the bottom of the back case of the next
generation iPod Touch although no information was available on what the extra
opening will be used for. Reports have also emerged through MacRumors that
hinted at the possible start of the development of the next generation iPod
Touch.
The upcoming
device will reportedly feature an identical in-cell touch display that is
supposedly going to be used on the upcoming iPhone 5. This will make the next
generation iPod Touch slimmer and lighter. The upcoming device will reportedly
be introduced by Apple sometime in September or in October, which is similar to
the expected introduction of the still-unannounced iPhone 5.
