Motorola Droid Razor |
Motorola announced last year that the Motorola Droid Razr will receive the Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 update near the start of 2012. However it appears that the update may not be released within the first quarter of the year.
The most recent roadmap for software updates of Motorola showed that the Motorola Droid Razr, Motorola Droid Razr Maxx and Motorola Droid Bionic were still being evaluated, which would indicate that the company is still checking these devices before the Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 update will be released.
Reports have indicated that it will take some time before the update will be released to these devices including the Motorola Droid Razr.
Due to this the quarter may pass without the Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 update released to the Motorola Droid Razr, Motorola Droid Razr Maxx and Motorola Droid Bionic
For the moment, the roadmap has indicated that the Motorola Atrix, Motorola Atrix 4G, and Motorola Photon 4G will be among the smartphones from the company that are set to receive the Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 update.
Aside from these smartphones, the Android 4.0 update will be released to a number of Motorola tablets. The Motorola Xoom tablets will also received the latest Android OS update within the current quarter or near the start of the coming quarter.
So owners of the Motorola Droid Razr and other smartphones will have to wait a bit longer before the latest version of the Android OS is finally released to their devices.
