For the moment it remains uncertain when the Android 4.0 update will be released for the current smartphone and tablet lineup of Verizon although the list of Verizon devices that will be receiving the update was released recently.

Verizon has reportedly revealed the devices that will be receiving the Android 4.0 update, which would be encouraging for owners of the devices.

Four HTC-branded devices were included in the list of device that is set to receive the latest version of the Android OS of Google. Among these HTC devices include the HTC Droid Incredible 2, the HTC Rezound, the HTC Rhyme, and the HTC Thunderbolt. The list also includes the LG Spectrum as the only LG device that is set to receive the Android 4.0 update.

It appears that Motorola is the luckiest among the bunch as seven Motorola devices will be receiving the Android 4.0 update. These devices include the Motorola Droid 4, the Motorola Droid Bionic, the Motorola Droid Razr, the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx, the Motorola Droid Xyboard 8.2, the Motorola Droid Xyboard 10.1 and the Motorola Xoom.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will be the only two Samsung devices that are set to receive the Android 4.0 update.

The release of the list may be met with mixed feelings since owners of these devices will be happy to note that they will be one of the first to have their devices updated. However the specific release schedule for the Android 4.0 update has remained uncertain since no dates were revealed by the mobile service provider.

For the moment Verizon users will have to be contented with the release of the list of Verizon devices that will receive the Android 4.0 update.
