It appears
that the latest version of the Doom game that was announced by id Software last
month will not be a new game at all. According to reports, the upcoming game
will be an updated version of the game which make the game up-to-date and will
be dubbed as Doom 3 BFG Edition.
The Doom 3
BFG Edition game will include the four previous versions of the game as well as
a new Lost Mission package for the game. Doom game fans will see an enhanced
version of the game as it will feature better graphics and will be released for
the PC, PlayStation 3, and the Xbox 360. The Doom 3 BFG Edition kit will also
have an option that will allow players to play in 3D.
However the initial
announcement about the Doom 3 BFG Edition game did not include its price tag as
well as its date of release. That is until now, the publisher recently revealed
that the upcoming Doom 3 BFG Edition game will be released on October 16 in the
United States at a price tag of around $30 for the PC and around $40 for the
game console version. Game enthusiasts in Europe will see its release in their
area by October 19 at around the same prices as it is offered in the US.
The enhanced
graphics on the upcoming Doom 3 BFG Edition will likely make it a good game to
purchase even for those who already have all versions of the game. Game
enthusiasts will also find the Lost Mission pack worthwhile since it adds more
game play to the game that were not available in previous versions of the game.
Some industry
watchers are hoping that the Doom 3 BFG Edition game will entertain Doom fans
long enough before the Doom 4 will be officially released into the market.
