The upcoming
release of the Asus Transformer Infinity 700 shows that Asus is aiming to increase
its tablet offerings in the market.
However some
similarities were noted with the soon-to-be-released Asus Transformer Infinity
tablet with the Asus Transformer Prime. This had resulted to speculations that
the upcoming device may be an overpriced version of the previous version of the
tablet.
Despite its
similarities, the Asus Transformer Infinity 700 offers much more than the
previous model of the device. The main difference between the upcoming device
and its predecessor is the enhanced display screen on the soon-to-be-released
tablet. Although it basically has the same size at 10.1 inches and the same
technology, the upcoming Asus Transformer Infinity 700 features a display
resolution of 1920 by 1200. In comparison the Asus Transformer Prime only comes
with a 1280 by 800 resolution.
The Asus
Transformer Infinity 700 will have a pixel density of around 224 PPI as
compared to the 149 PPI on the Asus Transformer Prime.
The soon-to-be-released
Asus Transformer Infinity 700 will also feature a 1.5 GHz dual-core MSM8960
processor from Qualcomm while the Asus Transformer Prime features a 1.3GHz
quad-core processor. The upcoming tablet offering of Asus will also feature LTE
network support while its Wi-Fi only version will come with a 1.6GHz quad-core
Tegra 3 processor from Nvidia.
The soon-to-be-released
Asus Transformer Infinity 700 will also be 0.2 millimeters thicker than the
Asus Transformer Prime however this slight difference in its thickness is
barely noticeable since both tablets have the same weight. The upcoming Asus
device will also feature a two-megapixel camera in front compared to the 1.2MP
camera on the previous version of the device.
When it
comes to pricing, the Asus Transformer Infinity is a bit expensive compared to
the Asus Transformer Prime since the 64GB model of the previous is expected to
be priced at around $785 compared to the $720 price tag of the former. The
upcoming device offering of Asus will only have a 64GB model for the moment
even as the 32GB model of the Asus Transformer Prime is priced at $499 over at
Amazon.
