An analyst
from KG Securities recently claimed that the iPad Mini may be introduced by
Apple by September, possibly right after the iPhone 5 will be introduced into
the market.
MacRumors
reported that Ming-Chi Kuo hinted at the possibility that the iPad Mini will be
launched by Apple within the month of September. Kuo also indicated that the iPhone 5 will
also be introduced by the company near the start of the same month, which will
be closely followed by the supposed iPad Mini.
The demand
for the iPad Mini is anticipated to be high if it will be introduced in
September. The estimated sales of the upcoming smaller model of the tablet
offering of Apple is expected to reach 1.8 million units by the end of the
third quarter, Kuo added. By the fourth quarter, sales of the iPad Mini may go
up to around 13 million units, which is much higher compared to the earlier
models of the device.
In addition
to the possible September release of the iPad Mini, Kuo also indicated that
some modifications may be made on the earlier model of the device. Among the
modifications, which will supposedly be made in the third quarter, will deal
with the heating problems of the device as well as to reduce its cost.
Apple is
expected to have a profitable fourth quarter with the upcoming introduction of
the iPhone 5 and the iPad Mini. Sales of the iPhone will likely exceed the 55
million mark, according to Kuo, while sales of the iPad may exceed the 30
million mark.
