It appears that the popularity of the Google Nexus 4 was not limited to the United Kingdom, where it was sold out within an hour after it was available in the market.

Reports show that the latest smartphone from LG and Google was sold out within minutes after it became available in the US Google Play store. Potential buyers of the Google Nexus 4 will have to wait for the next shipment of the device since a ‘coming soon’ notice was posted on the Google Play store for the 8GB and the 16GB models of the device.

The demand for the Google Nexus 4 in the international market was so high that the Netherlands launch was cancelled due to the increased demand for the device in other markets.

However it remains uncertain how many units were available when the Google Nexus 4 was launched. The number of available units may have contributed to its sold-out status in the market although no specific details were released on the number of units available during its launch into the market.

Among the plus points for the latest Android-powered device include its $299 price tag and its availability without having to sign up for a contract. The device also uses the Android 4.2 OS, which is the latest Android OS from Google. However one huge drawback for the Google Nexus 4 is the absence of 4G LTE connectivity.

In addition to the Google Nexus 4 smartphone, the latest Nexus 10 tablet was also released into the US market recently.
