Google Nexus 5 Reports Continue To Emerge
LG G2

Although executives of LG have indicated that the company will not release the Google Nexus 5 into the market, recent reports have hinted at the possibility that the company will manufacture the latest reference design of the Android smartphone.

Following the upcoming release of the Moto X, reports have started to emerge on the possible release of the latest smartphone from Google. The latest reports have emerged in Vietnam, which is the location of one of the biggest factory of Samsung. Tinh te bloggers were also cited as sources of these reports. These bloggers have indicated that the latest design of the Google Nexus 5 is similar to the recently-launched G2.

The upcoming Google smartphone will reportedly feature a 5.2-inch display screen and the Snapdragon 800 processor. It will also have a slim design.

It can be recalled that an executive of LG revealed that there were no plans in producing the next Nexus smartphone. However, it was clarified that the company was not working on the device for the moment. The company also indicated that it was open to the idea of producing the next Nexus smartphone.

Some analysts are even speculating on a Google Play version of the LG G2. This may be a viable concept than the Google Nexus 5 if LG is planning to release the device into the market. However, the company has no plans of releasing this device.

The latest report of a Nexus smartphone based on the LG G2 contradicts another report that hinted at the possibility that the upcoming Android reference device will be manufactured by Motorola.

Although it remains uncertain which company will manufacture the next Android device, industry watchers are expecting the details of the Google Nexus 5 to be released once the Android 5.0 OS is finally introduced by the internet search giant.

New Google Nexus Handset In The Works

A new Google Nexus handset may be in the works if a recent report will be proven to be accurate.

The report posted on the Korea Times revealed that Google was discussing a number of things with LG and one of the topics that they discussed was the upcoming device. The two companies were able to work together before when they released the Google Nexus 4, which was among the more widely-accepted Android-powered smartphones in the market.

The Nexus brand is typically used by Google on a number of specific devices every year. The online search giant has worked with other companies aside from LG in the development of these devices. Apparently, Google will once again collaborate with LG in the development of the new Google Nexus handset.

Earlier reports had hinted at the possibility that Google was assessing a number of products from some manufacturers to find out the most suitable partner in the development of the upcoming model of the smartphone. A device from LG, which was given the codename “Megalodon,” was the most promising among all the devices that were evaluated. The reports hinted at the possibility that the upcoming smartphone may feature a display screen measuring 5.2 inches and will feature a 2.3 GHz Snapdragon processor, 3GB RAM, and a 16MP camera at the back.

No statements were issued by either Google or LG in connection to the report about the new Google Nexus handset.

Report Hints At Cheaper Google Nexus 7

Report Hints At Cheaper Google Nexus 7
Google Nexus 7 Tablet

The GoogleNexus 7 is already a relatively low-priced tablet but according to Digitimes, the online search giant is reportedly working on a much-cheaper version of the device.

The Google Nexus 7 was offered with a $199 price tag, which impressed a number of consumers. However, Google is reportedly working on offering a similar device that is priced under $150 with the ultimate goal of selling one at a price tag of $99.

The Taiwan-based tech site indicated that the low-priced Google Nexus 7 will be available in the market by the second quarter of 2013.

Components for the low-priced Nexus 7 tablet were already shipped by O-Film this month. The manufacturer reportedly offers a touch-screen glass to glass film technology that helped bring down the cost of producing the device aside from making is slimmer.

The lower production expenses will eventually bring down the price of the Google Nexus 7 to $99 although it is not possible for the moment. The report indicated that the upcoming model of the device will be price from $129 to $149.

First quarter deliveries are expected to reach 600,000 units according to delivery estimates. By offering the Google Nexus 7 at a price lower than $150 is seen as a challenge to the iPad Mini of Apple, which is priced around $329. When the price will go down to $99, the Google Nexus 7 is expected to give the tablet offering of Apple a run for its money. The quality of the low-priced Google Nexus 7 will reportedly compete with the quality offered by the iPad of Apple.

However, since the report is based on the supply chain of the device, its accuracy remains to be seen. Orders for the unconfirmed components of the supposed low-price Google Nexus 7 may be cancelled by the company any time, which means the report should be taken with a grain of salt.

For the moment, around one million units of the Google Nexus 7 is delivered by Asus and Google each month.

Google Says Manufacturer At Fault In Google Nexus 4 Shortage

Google Says Manufacturer At Fault In Google Nexus 4 Shortage

The inventory of the Google Nexus 4 has been limited ever since it was released into the market last month.

This shortage in the supply of the Google Nexus 4 was reportedly due to the limited and inconsistent supply from the manufacturer of the device, according to Dan Cobley, the UK and Ireland managing director of Google,.

The statement was made by Cobley in response to a number of questions about the Google Nexus 4.

Cobley indicated that what the consumers are experiencing is unacceptable and the company is working to deal with the problem. He offered an apology for the communication and service failures of the company throughout the entire process.

He also indicated that he was optimistic that there may be some good news in connection to the supply of the Google Nexus 4 although he did not give any commitments for the moment.

Cobley indicated that the orders for the device were already being processed for consumers who were informed of a five-day delivery schedule. Credit for the shipping cost will be credited to these customers. It is expected that processing of orders by consumers who received a pre-Christmas delivery schedule will be made this week.

The Google Nexus 4 was sold out within an hour after it was released into the market last month.

The 8GB model of the Google Nexus 4 became available in the market near the start of the month however supplies did not last long. The popularity of the latest LG smartphone offering resulted to a huge demand for the device, the Andy Coughlin, LG mobile head in the UK, indicated.

A spokesman for Google indicated that it will not release any other statements in connection to the supply of the Google Nexus 4 aside from the one released by Cobley  through Google+.

Demand For Google Nexus 4 Underestimated

Google Nexus 4

It seems the demand for the Google Nexus 4 is more than what LG had expected as the supply of the 8GB has reportedly run out again.

The latest Google smartphone was initially released last November and was quickly sold out in a number of retail outlets. Potential buyers had to wait for the inventory to be replenished and had their chance recently when it became available again in the market. However, the demand for the Google Nexus 4 was way bigger than what the company initially expected.

According to the mobile head of LG in the UK, Andy Coughlin, the demand for the Google Nexus4 was so high that retailers have a difficult time in meeting it. This may hint of the possibility that the company may have underestimated the popularity of the device in the market.

Coughlin added that LG is closely collaborating with Google in order to make sure that potential buyers will be able to purchase the Google Nexus 4. The Google Nexus 4 features a 4.7-inch IPS screen display, 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor from Qualcomm, 2GB RAM, and an eight-megapixel camera at the back.

The Google Nexus 4 also features the latest Android OS, the Android 4.2 OS and is touted to be a possible rival to the iPhone 5 of Apple and the Samsung Galaxy S3.

At the heels of the resumption of Google Nexus 4 sales in the US, this popular smartphone offering of Google has become available at the Google Play stores in Europe.

The 8GB Google Nexus 4 will be available for delivery in the UK within five weeks time, while the 16GB model can be delivered within two weeks. Images and information about the notices released by Google were posted by Reddit users. The notice informed consumers that the inventory of the Google Nexus 4 at the Google Play store in Europe has been replenished

The Google Nexus 4, which is manufactured by LG, sold out within a few minutes after it became available in the market. Due to this, potential buyers had to wait for some time before stocks of the device were replenished by the manufacturer. The smartphone uses an unadulterated version of the Jelly Bean Android OS. Despite the absence of 4G LTE capabilities, the Google Nexus 4 remained popular in the market.

This popularity may have caught up with the supply once again as reports have indicated that stocks of the Google Nexus 4 in the US market is running low. Stocks of the 8GB model of the device have apparently been sold out a few days after Google announced its replenished inventory of the device. On the other hand the 16GB model will reportedly be delivered to users within six-weeks-time.

The unlocked smartphone offering of Google was initially available in the market last November 13 with the 8GB model priced at around $300. The 16GB model of the Google Nexus 4 costs around $350.

Google Nexus 4 Stocks Replenished

Following a recent sold-out status, new stocks of the Google Nexus 4 are already available for consumers who were not able to purchase the smartphone when it was initially offered in the market.

The Google Nexus 4 was sold out minutes following its availability last November 13. Consumers who ordered the device but were not able to get one can expect the smartphone delivered to them soon. Stocks of the recently-released Google smartphone were not available in the past two weeks even as consumers eagerly awaited news of its availability.

The search giant revealed that the Google Nexus 4 will be available for sale on the Google Play Store.

The 8GB model of the Google Nexus 4 has a price tag of around $300, while the 16GB model is priced at $350. This low price point resulted to the sold out status of the device minutes after it entered the market. The company has reportedly sent emails to customers on the availability of the Google Nexus 4 and its upcoming resumption of deliveries.

T-Mobile is also offering the LG-manufactured smartphone at $200, which requires a two-year service contract.

Aside from the Google Nexus 4, stocks of the Google Nexus 7 and the Nexus 10 were also sold out a few days after they became available. Stocks of the two tablets have been replenished and are currently available in the market although there will be a two-week wait for the delivery of the 32GB model of the Google  Nexus 10.

It remains to be seen if the initial stocks of the Google Nexus 4 were not substantial enough for its expected demand or if there were problems in the supply chain of the company. Google has not revealed a specific sales figure for its latest device offering.

The demand for the Google Nexus 4 reflects the increasing appeal of the Nexus devices, whose sales were not quite impressive when the company initially offered the Google Nexus One in the market some time ago.

US Google Play Store Sells All Google Nexus 4 Units

Google Nexus 4

It appears that the popularity of the Google Nexus 4 was not limited to the United Kingdom, where it was sold out within an hour after it was available in the market.

Reports show that the latest smartphone from LG and Google was sold out within minutes after it became available in the US Google Play store. Potential buyers of the Google Nexus 4 will have to wait for the next shipment of the device since a ‘coming soon’ notice was posted on the Google Play store for the 8GB and the 16GB models of the device.

The demand for the Google Nexus 4 in the international market was so high that the Netherlands launch was cancelled due to the increased demand for the device in other markets.

However it remains uncertain how many units were available when the Google Nexus 4 was launched. The number of available units may have contributed to its sold-out status in the market although no specific details were released on the number of units available during its launch into the market.

Among the plus points for the latest Android-powered device include its $299 price tag and its availability without having to sign up for a contract. The device also uses the Android 4.2 OS, which is the latest Android OS from Google. However one huge drawback for the Google Nexus 4 is the absence of 4G LTE connectivity.

In addition to the Google Nexus 4 smartphone, the latest Nexus 10 tablet was also released into the US market recently.

User Gets Google Glass After Google Nexus 7 Tablet Gets Torched

An image posted on a Chinese forum showed a Google Nexus 7 device smoking while it was being charged using the original charger from the factory. Due to this, the insides of the device were practically torched making the device an overpriced paperweight.

This may not have been what the company had in mind when it wanted to release a smoking-hottablet into the market. Some industry watchers consider this more of a problem in the electrical grid of a country rather than a problem with the Google Nexus 7 tablet itself. But with a number of reports that showed overheating and malfunctioning devices, there may be some credence to the story that there may have been something wrong with the Google Nexus 7 tablet itself.

However, this bad luck for the Chinese user of the Google Nexus 7 tablet appears to turn out for the best since Asus is reportedly giving the user more than a replacement to the damaged device. In addition to the device that was supposedly damaged due to some problems with its charging mechanism, the company will supposedly offer the user a set of Google Glasses for free.

The story itself does not sit well with some industry watchers although if it is accurate, then there is a possibility that a number of Google Nexus 7 tablet users may find ways in “accidentally” torching their own units in order to get a pair of Google glasses for free.

Even as the Google Nexus 7 tablet was only introduced recently by Google, it has reportedly infringed some patents owned by other manufacturers.

According to Nokia, the upcoming Google Nexus 7is reportedly using the Wi-Fi technology that is covered by a patent held by Nokia. The Finnish manufacturer also indicated it was not approached by Google or Asus in connection to licensing the supposed technology.

The upcoming Google Nexus 7 is manufactured by Asus and will feature the latest mobile OS of Google, the Jelly Bean Android. The device was introduced by Google during the I/O event that was held in San Francisco recently.

A spokesperson from Nokia revealed that the company owns over forty licenses that are mainly for the standards essential patent portfolio of the company which include a number of mobile device manufacturers. The patent portfolio of Nokia does not include Google or Asus.

The spokesperson added that companies that are not included in its standard essential patents can simply approach the company and sign up for the license.

It remains uncertain if a patent infringement claim will be filed by Nokia due to the introduction of the Google Nexus 7 tablet and no statements were issued by the company in connection to this.

No statements were also issued by Google or Asus in connection to the claim of patent infringement by the Google Nexus 7 tablet.

Google Nexus 7 Tablet May Not Threaten iPad of Apple

Google Nexus 7 Tablet

Although the recently-unveiled Google Nexus 7 tablet is offered at a rather reasonable price, an analyst has indicated that it may not be able to top the iPad of Apple.

According to Brian White, an analyst from Topeka Capital Markets, the Google Nexus 7 tablet comes with a number of notable features, including a quad-core Tegra 3processor, 180 by 800 display resolution, nine-hour battery life, mini-USB port, Android Beam and NFC support, as well as the Jelly Bean Android 4.1 OS.

The Google Nexus 7 tablet is priced at $199 and $249 for the 8GB and the 16GB models respectively.

However the iPad offers a better display resolution of 2048 by 1536 as well as 3G and 4G network support compared to the Wi-Fi network support offered by the Google Nexus 7 tablet.

In addition to the features, Apple also offers users of the iPad a notable app ecosystem that offers 225,000 out of 650,000 applications for the iPad. Although Google offers around 600,000 mobile applications, applications that were designed specifically for tablets such as the Google Nexus 7 tablet are not as numerous as those offered for the iPad of Apple.

According to a note that White wrote to investors, the innovation in the design, unparalleled visuals, intuitive user interface high application availability, and increasing innovations in technology will allow the iPad of Apple to continue its dominance in the tablet market despite the introduction of the Google Nexus 7 tablet.

The Google Nexus 7 tablet may be more of a competition to the Amazon Kindle Fire instead of the iPad of Apple, according to the analyst.

The view of White on the dominance of the iPad reflects his upbeat outlook for Apple as he had projected that Apple shares may reach around $1,111.

Even as the Google Nexus 7 tablet offers notable features, it may be considered as competition for smaller Android-powered tablets since it will satisfy the need of consumers for more features on a reasonably-priced tablet.

The Google Nexus 7 tablet offers better features than other seven-inch Android tablets particularly with its use of the latest Android OS. One of the potential rivals of the latest tablet offering of Google is the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, which has reportedly gained a number of good reviews from industry watchers.

Pre-orders for the Google Nexus 7 tablet, which was unveiled only recently at the I/O Conference of Google, are being accepted already through Google Play at a price tag of $199 and $249 for the 8GB and 16GB models respectively.

However it appears that the upcoming Android 4.1-powered tablet is already being offered on eBay at a price tag higher than its official retail price. The release schedule of the upcoming Google Nexus 7 tablet is set in July.

The upcoming tablet offering of Google will feature an HD display with a 1280 x 800 resolution, quad-core Tegra 3 processor as well as a 12-core GPU. Connectivity options for the Google Nexus 7 tablet include, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and near field communication or NFC.

The Google Nexus 7 tablet will be the first tablet offering of Google that will feature the Chrome as its standard browser. The device was initially introduced during the CES last January by Jen-Hsun Huang, the head of Nvidia. Last April reports gave indications that the release schedule of the upcoming device will be postponed to July, which is around two months after the anticipated release schedule in May.

Following the end of the I/O keynote where the Google Nexus 7 tablet was unveiled, the company revealed that it will distribute a Nexus phone, Nexus 7, and a Nexus Q social streamer to all attendees of the conference.

The seller of the Google Nexus 7 tablet has reportedly offered the device at $500 for users who wish to buy it immediately, while bidding for the device starts at around $250. However no bids were reportedly made for the device which shows that consumers are waiting for the official release of the device.

Supposed Images of Google Nexus Tablet Emerge

Google Nexus Tablet
Google Nexus Tablet

Images of the reported Google Nexus tablet have emerged recently even as the I/O event of Google approaches however it remains uncertain if these images are authentic.

The leaked images have stirred up a hornet’s nest in the Android community as these may offer the first look at the upcoming Google Nexus tablet. The images are somewhat blurred although one could make out some of the features on the device. The leaked image of the reported Google Nexus tablet shows its white-colored face while the back of the device has two colors, black and silver.

The upcoming Google Nexus tablet may also be designed for use in portrait mode basing on the orientation and position of the logo of Google. The logo of Asus is also found near the bottom of the upcoming device which confirm earlier reports that the company will manufacture the upcoming Google Nexus tablet.

The design of the upcoming tablet offering of Asus shows some similarities to the Samsung Galaxy S3. However it remains uncertain if the leaked image is showing the actual Google Nexus tablet that may be released into the market in the future.

Some inconsistencies in the design as shown on the image have resulted to some doubts on the veracity of the leaked image. These inconsistencies include the speaker along the top of the device as well as a proximity and light sensor positioned near the camera. There is no rational explanation for the positioning of the speaker and the proximity sensor unless it will be used close to the ear of the user.

However some observers have also indicated that some companies release mockups for upcoming devices and this may be one of the mockups that Asus may have made for the upcoming Google Nexus tablet. Whether the leaked image is accurate or not remains to be seen until Google will finally unveil the actual device.

Benchmark Hints at Tegra 3 for Google Nexus Tablet

Google Nexus Tablet

Hints on the upcoming Google Nexus tablet of Asus have gradually increased in recent weeks with the latest reports pointing to a possible benchmark that showed not-so-impressive results.

According to latest reports a benchmark for the Google Nexus tablet of Asus reportedly showed an unimpressive performance for the upcoming device. This gives an indication that the upcoming device may be made available in the market soon.

The supposed benchmark for the Google Nexus tablet reportedly emerged on the website of Rightware, which is better known for the Kanzi user interface. The website also shows some of the features of the upcoming Google Nexus tablet including a seven-inch display screen that features a resolution of 1280 by 768.

The information shown on the website gives indications that the device will be using a quad-core 1.3GHz Tegra processor along with the ULP GeForce GPU of Nvidia.

No statements were issued by either Google or Asus in connection to the upcoming Google Nexus tablet although numerous reports hinted at the possibility that the device will be launched soon. The latest report is also consistent with earlier reports that hinted of a seven-inch display for the tablet and a quad-core processor.

Reports have hinted at a possible June launch of the Google Nexus tablet of Asus while another report hinted at its possible introduction during the upcoming I/O conference of Google. The Google Nexus tablet will reportedly come with the Jelly Bean Android, the next version of the Android mobile platform of Google.

So far Google has yet to make any statements in connection to the supposed benchmark result of the Google Nexus tablet that emerged recently.
