A computer inside a USB thumb drive? Some people may find this unbelievable but a recent report has indicated that a full computer is supposedly available on a USB stick an it is already available for pre-orders. The Cotton Candy thumb drive computer reportedly offers users the functions of a full computer.
The Cotton Candy thumb drive computer of FXI Technologies was unveiled during the Mobile World Congress and the company is reportedly already accepting pre-orders for the small-sized computer-in-a-thumb drive device.
The device was reportedly introduced last year and it featured a 1.2GHz ARM Cortex A9 microprocessor, 1GB RAM, along with the Mali 400 GPU that offers HD video decoding. The Cotton Candy thumb drive computer also offers Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.
The Cotton Candy thumb drive computer can reportedly be linked into a USB port to allow it to draw power while the other end of the device can be linked into a display screen through an HDMI connection. The Cotton Candy thumb drive computer will function as a computer once it is linked to the display screen.
The Cotton Candy thumb drive computer also features a microSD memory card slot which allows it to support a 64GB memory card. It can also be connected to other peripherals through a microUSB port.
The latest version of the Cotton Candy thumb drive computer reportedly appears better compared to the device that was introduced earlier and will reportedly be available for deliveries in the US and in Europe soon.
The price tag of the Cotton Candy thumb drive computer is at $199 and will possibly use an Ubuntu or Android 4.0 OS, which can be downloaded by users.
