The source
code of the HTC One was released recently by the smartphone manufacturer.
The HTC One
is the latest flagship smartphone of the Taiwan-based company and with the
release of the source code, developers will not find it difficult to create
customized ROMs and applications that are specifically designed for use on the
device.
The addition
of the kernel source code of the smartphone by the HTC Dev Team is consistent
with the current practice of the smartphone manufacturer. The release of the
source code is beneficial for developers and modders although it will not be
rather useful for ordinary smartphone users.
The release
of the source code will be appealing for people who are in the habit of rooting
their Android devices. This means a number of customized ROM interfaces may
emerge over the net in the next few weeks. Aside from the HTC One, the source
code of the HTC Droid DNA from Verizon was also released by the smartphone
manufacturer.
However, it
should also be noted that the source code for the flagship smartphone of HTC
was mainly for the Vodafone France and Vodafone models. Despite this, it is
still considered a good start since it may not take a long time before the
source code for the HTC One that was released into the US market to be made
available by the smartphone manufacturer.
