Android 4.0 Update Scheduled For More HTC Devices

The Android 4.0 update is set to be released for the HTC EVO 3D as well as the EVO Design 4G based on a recent announcement by Sprint.

The mobile service provider indicated that users of the two devices will receive a notification for the Android 4.0 update which will prompt them to download the update. Once the update is downloaded and installed into the smartphones, the users will be able to use the features of the Ice Cream Sandwich Android.

Even as the specific release dates for the Android 4.0 update were not revealed by the mobile service provider, it is expected to become available by the start of August. The specific release dates will be made available by the mobile service provider soon.

The Android 4.0 update will offer a better user interface along with a new camera application that offers a number of effects such as posterize, vintage, depth of field, and vignette.

Once the smartphones will receives the Android 4.0 update, web browser of the smartphone will sync the Google Chrome bookmarks as well as offer a new tabs layout. The People application will also be integrated into Google+ to facilitate browsing the photos of contacts in high resolution.

The other features offered with the Android 4.0 update include a new Gmail app that allows searching for emails even without a data connection, better keyboard, and an integration of Google+ for video chats and hangouts. The update will also bring the Face Unlock feature that facilitates unlocking of the device through facial recognition.

Even as Google has yet to release the Android 4.0 update to all Android-powered devices, the latest version of the OS was introduced recently. The Jelly Bean Android 4.1 OS debuted on the Google Nexus 7 tablet and was recently made available for the Galaxy Nexus and will be released to the Motorola Xoom and the Samsung Nexus S soon.

It appears that the Android 4.0 update is gradually being released to a number of devices and the latest devices that are set to receive the latest version of the Android mobile platform are the Samsung Galaxy Tab devices.

Reports have indicated that owners of Samsung Galaxy Tab devices can expect to receive the Android 4.0 update starting next month. The Wi-Fi only model as well as the Wi-Fi / 3G versions of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, 7.7, 8.9 and the 10.1 will be receiving the Android 4.0 update.

Although the specific date of release of the Android 4.0 update for the devices remains uncertain, most of them should expect it to come by August. The Android 4.0 update has become available to the Sony Tablet P as indicated in recent reports. The release of the latest Android platform was supposed to have been made last May 24 in a number of selected markets however it only saw the light of day recently.

Verizon recently made the Android 4.0 upgrade available for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

Even as the Android 4.0 upgrade will be released soon as indicated on the website of the mobile service provider, it appears that some users have already received the update already.  The Samsung Galaxy Nexus became available in the market with the Ice Cream Sandwich Android but the recently released Android 4.0 upgrade will give the device the latest Android OS.

The latest Android 4.0 upgrade will reportedly provide the Samsung Galaxy Nexus a number of enhancements according to Verizon. Additional information on the upgrade is available through the update page of Verizon along with how the devices can be updated by their respective users.
