Share The Genius Event To Highlight The LG Optimus G Pro

The LG Optimus G Pro will be the main highlight of the upcoming press conference of LG that will be held in New York. This was revealed recently through a second invitation from the smartphone manufacturer.

The event is scheduled to be held in New York City on May 1 as LG has started to reveal additional details of the “Share the Genius” event. The Metropolitan Pavilion will be the venue for the event and will feature the performance of the band Atlas Genius.

The event will reportedly highlight the next smartphone offering of LG, the LG Optimus G Pro.

The smartphone was initially unveiled by LG at the MWC 2013 last February. The device will feature a full HD IPS display screen measuring 5.5 inches, which makes it another entry into the phablet category. It will reportedly compete against the Galaxy Note 2 of Samsung.

The upcoming smartphone will also come with a quad-core 1.7Ghz Snapdragon 600 processor, 13MP camera and the SmartVideo eye recognition system.

The LG Optimus G Pro is currently available in Asia and will reportedly be offered as part of the product lineup of AT&T although additional details will be available during the upcoming event of the manufacturer.

US Release of LG Optimus Vu Coming Soon

The direct rival of the Samsung Galaxy Note is set to be released into the US market sometime in the third quarter. According reports the LG Optimus Vu may be released into the United States in the coming weeks.

The five-inch device offering of LG is a combination of a smartphone and a tablet, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note. The LG Optimus Vu will also feature 4G LTE network support and may be offered by a US-based mobile service provider.

Although no specific mobile service provider was indicated in a press release from the company, there are indications that Verizon may be the first US-based carrier to offer the LG Optimus Vu in the United States. The LG Optimus Vu was initially introduced during the Mobile World Congress last February.

The device will come with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 32GB internal storage, and eight-megapixel camera. However the 1024 by 768 resolution and 4:3 ratio of its screen display will put it at a disadvantage against the Samsung Galaxy Note.

It also remains uncertain if the LG Optimus Vu will be released into the US market using the Ice Cream Sandwich Android or the older Gingerbread Android OS. Verizon may not have an easy time in promoting the upcoming smartphone/tablet hybrid if it will be released into the market using the Android 2.3 OS instead of the relatively new Ice Cream Sandwich Android OS.

LG and Verizon may have its work cut out for them as it tries to make the LG Optimus Vu competitive in the market particularly with the supposed upcoming release of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2.
