Samsung Galaxy Tab Will Be Launched On September 2

Guess what . . .  the latest challenger to the Apple iPad, the Samsung Galaxy Tab will be launched on September 2 at the 50th edition of the IFA in Berlin. According to coated.com, Samsung made the announcement a day after the seven-inch tablet was spotted at a train station in Sydney, Australia. The gadget is expected to have a 7-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen, a 16GB RAM (expandable to 32 GB using a microSDHC memory card) and a 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex-A8 CUP. It will run using an Android 2.2 operating system.

A first look of the Samsung Galaxy Tab came out recently. The next question to answer will be whether  the Samsung Galaxy Tab can really compete with the iPad and the other Android-powered tablets which have a much bigger screen size compared to it.

The Google Chrome tablet - Google's Answer to the iPad

Well the trees have revealed a secret about the Google Chrome tablet - Google's answer to the iPad. Rumors are rife that the Chrome OS tablet from Google will be released on the 26th of November - Black Friday, or the busiest shopping day in the United States. The device built by HTC, which also partnered with Google for the Nexus One, is supposed to be based on the Tegra 2 platform of Nvidia and will have a 1280 x 720 multi-touch display, 2 GB RAM, and a minimum of 32 GB SSD. It also features WiFi, Bluetooth, and LTE connectivity, a GPS, webcam and possibly a multi-card reader to increase data storage.

Google may also partner up with Verizon, which may offer the gadget at prices much cheaper than the iPad together with a Verizon contract. With these features, the latest contender to the tablet crown will definitely be something to look out for. The release date will likely put the Google Chrome tablet high up on the must-have list for Christmas.

iPad Games Leaked

A week before the scheduled launch of the iPad, padgadget.com was able to scour the iTunes database and found some iPad Games leaked by Apple. These games were already approved and are now currently listed at the App Store. However, Apple recently corrected their iTunes site and these titles were taken out of the list recently.

The games which were initially listed at the iTunes Preview site and HD iPad titles are as follows:

• HD Recovery
• Labyrinth 2 HD

 Anyway, you can always wait for the week to pass and finally get your hands on the iPad as well as the iPad games leaked initially by Apple.

iPad Will Be Available Soon

Apple recently announced that their latest gotta-have gadget, the iPad ,will be available soon in the US market. Although you can start making your orders as early as next week or March 12, you will have to wait a few more weeks before you can get your hands on the gadget. The wi-fi ready models of the iPad will be available on April 3, but if you're aiming for the 3G version of the device, you'll have to cool your heels for a couple more weeks since the 3G version will be available late April. Customers outside of the US will also have to wait until late April before they can start using the much anticipated tablet computer from Apple. These countries include Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland and the UK. Countries not listed above will have to wait a bit longer since Apple has not yet announced when they will be released.

With a thickness of just 0.5 inches and a weight of 1.5 lbs., the iPad is the thinnest and lightest compared to the other netbooks and laptops available in the market today. And its supposed to have a battery life of up to 10 hours. Other features of the iPad are as follows:

• Read and send email on the large display of the iPad

Apple Tablet - Is it really for real

Rumors on the release of the Apple Tablet have kept everyone on their toes for most of last year. A prediction from www.thestandard.com said that it might be an $800 gadget with a 9.7 inch touchscreen device due to be released last October 31. Another prediction from the same website said that Verizon's network may be used for the tablet by December 1 last year. Its latest prediction is a March 31, 2010 release for the much talked about tablet from Apple.

Gizmodo.com on the other hand, made its own investigative work on the probable name , release date, price range and some specifications of the device. Names included iSlate, TabletMac as well as iPAD, with iPAD viewed with an amused skepticism.

The Today @ PC World Blog post of Jared Newman had similar reports on the specifications and price range of the device. It may be a 9.7 inch device price at $800 or a 6 inch gadget at less than $700. Another report was for a device with a 10 inch screen at around $1000.

With all of these reports, rumors and predictions coming in, the hype for the device is now getting stronger and stronger. We hope that this Apple Tablet will live up to the Apple brand of devices, although I myself have not yet used, let alone owned an Apple device (although it would be nice to have one though).

We're just hoping that Steve Jobs will answer all questions about the Apple tablet when he's supposed to introduce a new product this coming January 26.
