The South
Korean company recently confirmed that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S4 will come
with a quad-core processor instead of one that features eight cores.
When the
next variant of the Galaxy S line was announced last month, speculations
emerged on what processor the smartphone will have. Some reports hinted at the
1.9GHz quad-core processor from Qualcomm while others indicated that the device
will feature a 1.6GHs eight-core Octa Exynos 5 processor from Samsung.
However,
these speculations were recently put to rest by the confirmation by the South
Korean manufacturer.
The Samsung
Galaxy S4 will also have a five-inch full-HD Super AMOLED screen display and a
13MP camera at the back. The latest variation of the Galaxy S series will be
run on the Jelly Bean Android 4.2.2 OS.
The upcoming
smartphone will be offered through a number of mobile service providers
including Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, C-Spire and Cricket. Staples,
Costco, Sam’s Club, Target, Walmart, and RadioShack will also be offering the
smartphone in the market.
The pricing
structure will be released individually by each of the mobile service provider
and retail outlet. The smartphone will be available in three models a 16GB
model, 32GB model and a 64GB model. The version of T-Mobile will be released on
April 24 at a price tag of around $150 with the usual 24-month service
contract. On the other hand, the Sprint version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 will
be available by April 27 at around $250 with the typical two-year mobile
service contract.
