New images of the unannounced iPhone 5 of Apple made a brief appearance on Kitguru.net before they were removed from the website.

This has led some industry watchers to speculate whether the leaked images were accurate enough that compel the legal division of Apple to come into the fray. Apple has not confirmed the existence of the iPhone 5, which is currently the focus of a number of speculations in recent months.

The supposed leaked images of the upcoming iPhone 5 were consistent with earlier reports and leaked images of the upcoming device. It appeared to be taller compared to the current model of the iPhone due to its 4:3 display screen, which would give users a wider screen if the supposed iPhone 5 is turned sideways.

The screen size also means that videos and movies will be able to use the 16:9 ratio when viewed by the users.

The smaller dock connector located at the bottom of the iPhone 5 was also shown on the leaked images. This means that current charger cables and iPhone docks will not be usable on the upcoming device. In addition to the iPhone 5, reports have also indicated that Apple is also working on a smaller version of the iPad or the iPad mini, which is set to compete with the recently-released Google Nexus 7 tablet.

The iPad mini will reportedly also feature the smaller dock connector that will also be used on the next-generation iPhone. Both the iPhone 5 and the iPad mini will supposedly be released into the market before the end of the year.
