Samsung revealed recently that international sales of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 have reached the five million unit level. The recent milestone comes just two months after the ‘phablet’ was released into the market by the South Korean manufacturer.

The notable milestone for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was made possible through the partnerships that the company has with numerous mobile service provider around the world. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has proven to be more popular than its predecessor, which took three months before it reached the three million unit level.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 reached the three million unit level within thirty days after it was unveiled by the company.

Analysts were initially pessimistic about the market for the smartphone/tablet hybrid since it was too small for a tablet and too big for a smartphone. However, the according to Jack Gold of J. Gold Associates, the form factor of the phablet is suitable for a number of uses who do not require a device that is small enough to fit their pocket. Its size was suitable enough for watching videos and surfing the net. It can also be used as an e-reader.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is already available in all markets around the world. It features as 5.5-inch display screen with a 1280x720 resolution, quad-core 1.6GHz Exynos processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage that can be expanded to 64GB using a microSD memory card, and uses the Jelly Bean Android 4.1.1 OS.

However the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 still has a lot of ground to cover when compared to the sales mark reached by the Samsung Galaxy S3, which has already reached thirty million units as of November 5.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 may also face an obstacle following its inclusion in the patent infringement lawsuit filed by Apple against the South Korean company. But the case is not scheduled to go on trial until 2014, which means that sales of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 can still increase and possibly double the total sales of its predecessor.

In addition to the report about the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, reports have continued to emerge on the possible launch of the Samsung Galaxy S4 next year. However, these reports remain unconfirmed and should be taken with a grain of salt.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Launched In South Korea

Even as it has to deal with a rather competitive mobile market, Samsung recently released the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 in its home country. The company has reportedly indicated that the international launch of the latest version of the smartphone-tablet hybrid will be implemented in the coming months.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will be released in around 128 countries following its recent launch in South Korea. Even as the company did not reveal the exact release dates in the international market, it did indicate that the device will be released in the UK market near the start of the next month. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will also be released in the US market in the same month.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was initially unveiled during the IFA consumer electronics show last August in Berlin. The device follows the rather successful release of the original Samsung Galaxy Note last February.

According to the mobile business head of Samsung, JK Shin, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will live up to the reputation of the original version of the device, which created a distinctive category in the smart mobile device market.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is somewhat thinner and taller compared to its predecessor and weighs around 6.5 ounces. The device comes with a Super AMOLED screen display measuring 5.5 inches and a 1.6 GHz quad-core processor. The device is available in 32GB and 64GB models.

The S-Pen of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is thicker and longer compared to the previous model. It offers a better grip and additional functions. Users will be able to preview emails, videos, or a calendar by simply letting the pen hover above it. Users will also be able to create screen captures of images or text before sharing them through a text message or an email.

Shin indicated that the South Korean company intends to sell the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 at a faster rate compared to the original model. However, analysts are uncertain about the attempt of Samsung in creating a new category in the same way the tablet niche was created by Apple with the iPad.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is supposedly not appealing enough to attract new users and it may affect sales of the Samsung Galaxy S3.

A number of market observers have called the device a phablet, and it may compete with other similarly-sized smartphones and small-sized tablets. The sales target of the company shows the strong marketing strategy for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 although it remains uncertain if the subsidy will be increase in order to reduce its price tag. However, a number of analysts have indicated that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has its own niche.

People who are looking into usability, productivity, and mobility may be attracted to the Samsung Galaxy Note. The predecessor of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has reportedly sold around twelve million units in the international market after it was launched. In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S3 sold around ten million units within two months after it was launched while sales of the iPhone 5 of Apple reached ten million during the first weekend it became available in the market.

Recent reports have revealed that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is already being tested by the South Korean company. This gives an indication that the upcoming successor to the smartphone/tablet hybrid may be nearing its release date.

However if the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will be released within the year, it might put it in a collision course with the upcoming iPhone 5 of Apple. Due to this, a number of industry watchers speculated on how the Samsung device will fare against the next-generation iPhone.

One of the main differences between the iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is its screen size. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is expected to feature a 5.5-inch display, which is much bigger compared to the reported 4-inch screen display of the iPhone 5. Basing on a recent entry on a popular benchmark site, a recently tested Samsung device will feature a quad-core 1.6GHz processor. This device is believed to be the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, which would make it faster compared to the recently-released Samsung Galaxy S3 although it remains uncertain if it will be faster compared to the upcoming iPhone 5.

Speculations have also emerged on the possibility that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will still be using the Ice Cream Sandwich Android instead of the much newer Jelly Bean Android OS. Reports have also pointed to the possibility that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will be introduced during the IFA event that is scheduled to be held on August 30, which will give it a few weeks lead in the market over the iPhone 5, which will reportedly be launched sometime in October.

Some speculations have also emerged on the materials that will be used on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 with some hinting at the possible use of premium materials while others have pointed to the possible use of plastic for the upcoming device.

It remains uncertain how the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will perform in the market against the iPhone 5 of Apple although some analysts have already hinted at the possible slowdown in the sales of other devices once the next iPhone is released into the market.

Google Nexus 7 Tablet Achieves Early Success Prior To Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Release

With the early success of the Google Nexus 7 tablet in the market, some industry watchers have speculated on whether the supposed Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will be able to perform well in the market.

A number of reports have emerged on the possibility that the South Korean company will release a successor to its popular smartphone/tablet hybrid by October. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is anticipated to go up against the reported iPad mini of Apple although it will feature a much bigger display at 5.5 inches.

The reported Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is expected to feature the Jelly Bean Android OS, the quad-core Exynos chipset, thirteen-megapixel camera, and a much better build.

The SamsungGalaxy Note 2 is expected to be a rather costly Android-powered device basing on the price of the Samsung Galaxy S3, which has an unlocked price tag of $800. However prices in the US market are normally subsidized by mobile service providers, which require a two-year service contract for the discounted prices.

In comparison, the Google Nexus 7 tablet has a price tag of around $200, which would make it much cheaper compared to the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Despite its low price tag, the Google Nexus 7 tablet features a seven-inch IPS display, the Jelly Bean Android OS, and an eight hour video playback due to its rather large battery. Although the Google Nexus 7 tablet does not offer connectivity options, consumers who own smartphones may opt to purchase it due to its low price and high-end features, which may have an effect on the market of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 may not easily penetrate the US market if it will be offered at an unlocked price tag of $800 since the Google Nexus 7 tablet offers full compatibility to the Google Play Store. However the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 may have a better chance in the international market although the Google device already has a good following in the market.

The notable features of the Google Nexus 7 tablet coupled with its reasonable price tag has resulted to strong sales for the device even as the supply is currently struggling to meet the demand for the device. This will be a big obstacle for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 to deal with when it will finally enter the market, although it also has to deal with the supposed iPad mini, which is expected to be released before the end of the year.

Reports have hinted that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will feature a Super AMOLED display screen measuring 5.5 inches and will feature a design similar to the recently-released Samsung Galaxy S3.

The current model of the Samsung Galaxy Note has a Super AMOLED HD screen measuring 5.3 inches and a screen ratio of 16:10. The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is expected to offer a screen ration of 16:9 with the bigger screen display.

Reports had earlier hinted at the development of the successor to the Samsung Galaxy Note and recent reports have confirmed the slightly bigger screen size for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

The exterior of the upcoming device is expected to offer more curves, which gives indications that the design of the Samsung Galaxy S3 was used as its inspiration.

However no statements were issued by Samsung in connection to the recent reports. The width of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will reportedly be smaller compared to the original model. The release date of the successor to the smartphone/tablet hybrid was reportedly moved earlier to September from the initial release schedule in October. The new release schedule for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was reportedly made to allow the device to be released prior to the release of the iPhone 5 of Apple.

Earlier reports had indicated that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will feature the Exynos 5250 chipset, dual-core ARM-15 processor, 2GB memory, and an eight-megapixel camera.

The touch detection technology on the reported Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will be positioned under the Super AMOLED screen instead of being positioned on top of the display. This particular technology is reportedly being used by a number of manufacturers including Motorola, Nokia, HTC, and LG.
