Motorola Droid Razr |
Verizon
recently confirmed that the Android 4.0 update will be released to the Motorola
Droid Razr and the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx soon.
The US-based
mobile service provider had promised to release the latest version of the
Android platform for the slim smartphones of Motorola in the second quarter and
it appears that the company is moving quickly to meet its own deadline.
Previous
reports have given indications of possible release schedules of the Android 4.0
update for the Motorola Droid Razr and the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx. However
these schedules have been constantly moved back.
The most
recent schedule for the release of the update for the Motorola Droid Razr and
the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx was on June 12, but the update has yet to be seen.
Sources of the report has indicated that the June 12 release schedule was on
the internal calendar of the company and it appears that the delay was due to
some issues in another department within the company.
It appears
that the recent confirmation released by Motorola on the upcoming Android 4.0
update for the Motorola Droid Razr and the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx has been
sent to a number of Verizon customers.
The text
message indicated that when the Android 4.0 update will be released to the
Motorola Droid Razr and the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx, the Verizon Mobile IM
application will be removed from the device since the latest Android mobile
platform does not support the app.
Owners of
the Motorola Droid Razr and the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx from Verizon are
advised to download the new instant messaging application in order to use the
IM on their devices.
The waiting
may soon be over for owners of the Motorola Droid Razr and the Motorola Droid
Razr Maxx from Verizon as the release of the Android 4.0 update draws closer.
