The resolution of a patent lawsuit between Apple and Samsung has resulted to the barring of the sale of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus in the US market.

Judge Lucy Koh recently ruled that Apple was able to clearly show that the company will experience irreparable damage unless an injunction was issued on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. This is the second time in the same week that an Android-powered device manufactured by Samsung was barred from sale in the United States.

The latest injunction on the sale of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus along with the first one issued in the week is not a good sign for the South Korean company since preliminary injunctions are not easily issued by American judges in cases such as this. It should also be noted that Samsung is a major supplier of the parts of products made by Apple.

Judges take into consideration irreparable harm to a company before an injunction is issued against the sale of devices. The issuance also increases the possibility of a victory in a trail for the company which sought the injunction. Koh also indicated that Apple was able to demonstrate that it may prevail in a trial against Samsung through its injunction request on the sale of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

A bond of $96 million was posted by Apple for the injunction against the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. The amount is the estimated loss for Samsung for the duration of the injunction and will be awarded to the company if the South Korean company will prevail in the trial. The patent claims filed by Apple against the Samsung Galaxy Nexus are connected to data tapping, slide to unlock function, word completion on a touchscreen, and Siri with a unified search.

However the lawsuit will not stop with the Samsung Galaxy Nexus since Apple appears to be aiming for the latest smartphone offering of the South Korean company, the Samsung Galaxy S3. Four of the major wireless service providers in the US are set to offer the device, whose international sales Samsung has projected to reach around ten million units by the end of the month.

The lawsuit filed against the Samsung Galaxy Nexus by Apple restrained much of the excitement of the release of the Google Nexus 7 tablet. Google reportedly indicated that the issue with the Samsung Galaxy Nexus spoiled the introduction of the latest tablet and Android offering of the company. The most recent schedule for the release of the update for the Motorola Droid Razr and the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx was on June 12, but the update has yet to be seen. Sources of the report has indicated that the June 12 release schedule was on the internal calendar of the company and it appears that the delay was due to some issues in another department within the company.

It appears that the recent confirmation released by Motorola on the upcoming Android 4.0 update for the Motorola Droid Razr and the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx has been sent to a number of Verizon customers.

The text message indicated that when the Android 4.0 update will be released to the Motorola Droid Razr and the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx, the Verizon Mobile IM application will be removed from the device since the latest Android mobile platform does not support the app.

Recent reports have hinted that the delivery of the Samsung Galaxy S3 of Verizon may be postponed by one day from July 9 to July 10.

The supposed change in the delivery schedule of the latest smartphone from Samsung may not have resulted from the patent lawsuit of Apple. The reports indicated that the change in the release schedule of the Samsung Galaxy S3 of Verizon may be linked to the relationship between Samsung and US-based mobile wireless providers.

Although it may still be possible for the Samsung Galaxy S3 to be delivered by Verizon at an earlier date, a worst-case scenario is necessary to avoid any disappointments among its customers. The Verizon version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 will be delivered around two weeks after the release of the versions for T-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint, which will deliver it on July 21.

Despite the delay, the Long Term Evolution or LTE network of Verizon offers a farther reach among all US-based mobile service providers, which would be an added incentive for consumers who are willing to wait for the release of the Samsung smartphone. However some observers have indicated that any delay in the release of the high-end smartphones may affect its sales in the market particular with the Samsung Galaxy S3.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 meant for the US market will feature a Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor, 2GB RAM, eight-megapixel rear camera, and a 1.9MP camera in front. It will also come with a Super AMOLED screen display measuring 4.8 inches.

It appears that the bid of Apple in keeping the Samsung Galaxy S3 out of the US market has been put on hold for the moment. According to District Court judge Lucy Koh, an injunction request can be filed by Apple against the latest Samsung smartphone however it will not be able to argue the case on June 21.

Apple will be compelled to file a motion for the ban of the sale of the Samsung Galaxy S3 together with the request for a schedule of hearing that will be held after June 21.

Judge Koh indicated that a number of issues have to be taken into consideration on the requested June 21 schedule of hearing. It will only add to the number of issues that have to be settled which may be too much for the court to handle. Last week both Samsung and Apple filed a proposal that requested for more briefing in connection to the Samsung Galaxy S3 at a later yet unspecified schedule

The motion for injunction against the Samsung Galaxy S3 was filed by Apple recently and it requested that it should be included on the scheduled June 21 hearing. Following this filing, Samsung filed a motion which stated that the request of Apple was late in the addition of new products to the motion for preliminary injunction.

Following this, Judge Koh indicated that the two parties agreed to have the hearing on the injunction against the Samsung Galaxy S3 moved back.

Judge Koh had earlier indicated that she did not want to be a Samsung versus Apple judge and revealed to the two parties that her docket has other cases. The injunction filed by Apple against the Samsung Galaxy S3 is the latest lawsuit that the two companies have filed against each other.

For the moment no statements were issued by either Samsung or Apple in connection to the change in the hearing schedule for the injunction filed by Apple against the Samsung Galaxy S3.

Since the demand for the Snapdragon S4 processor is quite high, it appears that HTC will be using a lower-grade CPU for the HTC One S in a number of Asian and European markets.

HTC confirmed recently that the Snapdragon S3 chipset will be used on some HTC One S units that are destined for selected markets in Asia and Europe. The shift was due to the extraordinarily high demand for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 processor.

HTC reportedly admitted that it attempted to do too much last year when it released a slightly different version of one handset into the market. It resulted to confusion among consumers on what were the differences among the HTC Sensation, HTC Sensation XL and the HTC Sensation SE.

It appears that consumers in the Asian and European market will have to read at the label on the HTC One S that they will purchase if Qualcomm will not be able to provide enough supply of the Snapdragon S4 processor to meet the demands of the market.

LG recently confirmed that the LG Optimus 4X HD has become available in the German market. The confirmation comes as the US market has yet to see the release of a smartphone that features a quad-core processor.

The LG Optimus 4X HD was initially introduced during the Mobile World Congress last February. It immediately gained the attention of industry watchers as it was the first smartphone to offer the quad-core Tegra 3 processor of Nvidia. In addition to the quad-core processor, the LG Optimus 4X HD also comes with a 4.7-icnh IPS LCD screen with a 720p resolution, eight-megapixel camera and a 2150mAh battery.

The LG Optimus 4X HD will be using the Android 4.0 operating system together with the latest Optimus 3.0 custom user interface of LG. The smartphone also offers a feature that allows taking down notes that is similar to the one found on the Samsung Galaxy Note although it will not require the use of a stylus.

In addition to the LG Optimus 4X HD, the Barcelona event also saw the introduction of the HTC One X although the US version of the HTC device will only come with a dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor from Qualcomm which will allow it to use the 4G LTE networks of US-based mobile service providers.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 also faces the same situation since it will not come with the quad-core processor that is featured on the international version of the much-anticipated smartphone.

In addition to the German market, the LG Optimus 4X HD is also set to be offered in other markets in Europe including the UK, Sweden, Italy, and the Netherlands.

Images of the upcoming Motorola Droid Razr HD have leaked into the internet recently although they appeared to be a bit blurred. The upcoming Motorola device is similar to that of the Motorola Droid Razr although it appears to be clad in Kevlar along its sides which gives it a more durable and rugged appearance.

The camera, which will reportedly be a 13MP unit, on the Motorola Droid Razr HD appeared to be in the center with the speaker and flash positioned on either side.

Reports have indicated that the display of the upcoming Motorola Droid Razr HD is remarkable although it gives no indications whether it will be similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy S3. However it will likely have a 720p HD display due to the HD on its name. This is similar to the display found on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Samsung Galaxy S3 and the HTC One X.

Previous reports have revealed the supposed features of the Motorola Droid Razr HD, which will reportedly use the latest Android platform, the Android 4.0 operating system. However the latest leak has not given any indications on the possible specifications of the upcoming Motorola smartphone.

But with a recent release of videos by Motorola of how it used the Ice Cream Sandwich Android, it will give hints at the possibility that the upcoming Motorola Droid Razr HD will feature the latest Android OS.

A recent court filing that was obtained by FOSS Patents revealed that the Samsung Galaxy S3 is reportedly infringing on two patents owned by Apple. Both of these patents were reportedly linked to software features. This indicates that Apple aims to prevent the entry of the much-awaited Samsung smartphone into the US market.

The two patents that the Samsung Galaxy S3 is supposedly infringing include the ‘unified search’ and ‘links for structures’ features.

The SamsungGalaxy S3 is set to be introduced into the US market by June 21 through five US-based carriers. It is the third major version of the S series of Samsung, which has been the target of Apple in a patent infringement lawsuit since the company was reportedly copying the iOS devices of Apple.

However a spokesperson from Samsung revealed that the request of Apple did not have any merit as the South Korean company is opposing the request and aims to show the court that the Samsung Galaxy S3 is an innovative and unique device. The company also assured US consumers that the upcoming smartphone will be launched and sold in the United States.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 has been well-received in the markets that it has been launched in and the company aims to bring the device into the US market.

Latest reports have pointed to the possibility that Verizon will release a software update for the Samsung Galaxy S3 to provide its customers the capability of calling in just about any part of the world.

Verizon subscribers who travel abroad will reportedly be able to use their Samsung Galaxy S3 to talk with anybody no matter which country that they are currently in.

The report was supposedly confirmed by Verizon according to PhoneScoop which indicated that an email was sent by Verizon that confirmed reports that users of the Samsung Galaxy S3 will be able to use 2G / 3G mobile networks of overseas mobile service providers to allow international roaming.

Although this capability will not be available when the latest Samsung smartphone will be launched by Verizon, a software update will be available soon. No schedule was revealed on the availability of the software update for the Samsung Galaxy S3.

An earlier confirmation from Verizon revealed that it will be releasing a software update to four Android-powered smartphones that will allow them to be used on GSM networks. Among the smartphones that will feature GSM roaming are the HTC Rezound, Motorola Droid 4, Motorola Droid Razr Maxx and the Motorola Droid Razr.

In the past, the incompatibility of the technology used by Verizon had prevented its customers from using their phones while going abroad. This resulted to the offering of world phones that gave customers the capability of roaming to most of the international mobile service networks.

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S3 of Verizon will reportedly work in the same way as it will use the 2G / 3G mobile networks of international service providers.

Eighty percent of the components of the Samsung Galaxy Exhilarate are made of post-consumer waste material. AT&T revealed that an efficient charger will also come with this budget-friendly LTE smartphone. The $50 price tag of the device will come with a two-year contract with the US-based carrier.

The Samsung Galaxy Exhilarate will feature a four-inch Super AMOLED display screen, 1.2GHz dual-core Scorpion processor from Qualcomm, five-megapixel camera at the back that is capable of recording 720p HD videos. This budget-friendly LTE smartphone will also feature a 1.3MP camera in front.

Both Samsung and AT&T will reportedly add some applications into this budget-friendly LTE smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy Exhilarate is among the first smartphones that AT&T is adding to its lineup to allow it to certify its eco-rating system that will be unveiled during the summer.

Reports on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S3 continue to emerge as latest reports point to a possible red-colored version for the AT&T model of the device.

So far no official release schedule has been made available by US-based carrier although prices will likely be at least $200. Both Verizon and AT&T have also announced that it will be accepting pre-orders for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S3 by June 6

AT&T will reportedly be offering the 16GB model of the Samsung Galaxy S3 at a price tag of around $200 with a two-year service contract. However users can also opt to purchase a 16GB microSD memory card at a $39 to increase the internal storage of the upcoming device, which will use the 4G LTE network of the carrier.

In addition to the red-colored model of the Samsung Galaxy S3 of AT&T, the US carrier will also offer the Pebble Blue and Marble White color option.  The red-colored version will reportedly be exclusively offered by AT&T and may be available sometime in the summer although no specific release schedules were announced by the carrier.

It remains uncertain which color options Verizon will offer as it has also yet to announce the release schedule of its version of the Samsung Galaxy S3. However it has revealed that the upcoming smartphone will have a price tag of at least $200 and will be using the 4G LTE network of the carrier.
