The Jelly Bean Android 4.1 OS was finally released to the Samsung Galaxy S3 of AT&T. The availability of the latest version of the Android OS was confirmed by the mobile service provider recently.

The JellyBean Android update for the Samsung Galaxy S3 of AT&T will be released through the Samsung Kies software and will not be available as an over-the-air download. Users who do not have the Samsung Kies software can download the update through the website of the South Korean manufacturer.

After installing the Jelly Bean Android update into their Samsung Galaxy S3 units, users are asked to connect the smartphone into a PC and visit the support site of the smartphone manufacturer. They will have to go through the step-by-step procedure on the page.

Samsung advised Samsung Galaxy S3 users to fully charge their units since the upgrade will not be completed if the charge level falls below fifty percent.

According to Ryan Lee, the product manager of AT&T, the Samsung Galaxy S3 will be enhanced with the Android 4.1 update, which will also offer a number of new features into the smartphone. Among the enhancements that the Android 4.1 update will bring to the Samsung Galaxy S3 include an improvement in Image quality under low light conditions while the notifications feature will be improved. The device will also receive some new features including Google Now.

Users will also have the capability of disabling notifications, incoming calls, and alarms at a specific time period.

The Android 4.1 update for the Samsung Galaxy S3 will also simplify user experience through the Easy Mode while texting and typing will be made simple through the Swype keyboard.

In addition to the AT&T version of the Samsung Galaxy S3, the update is also available to the Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint versions of the smartphone.

The third quarter saw the Samsung Galaxy S3 topping the smartphone market as it delivered more units compared to the iPhone 4S of Apple.

Figures from Strategy Analytics saw 18 million units of the Samsung Galaxy S3 being delivered during the third quarter as it copped eleven percent of the smartphone market. However, the iPhone 4S followed the flagship smartphone of the South Korean company with around 16.2 million units delivered. Industry watchers have hinted that the reason for the smaller number of iPhone 4S deliveries compared to the Samsung Galaxy S3 was the fact the many consumers were already anticipating the release of the iPhone 5 into the market.

However it appears that consumers have continued to snap up the Samsung Galaxy S3 as the South Korean company recently indicated that total sales of the smartphone has reached 30 million units. The Samsung Galaxy S3 was initially launched by the company last May in an event held in London and became available in the market soon after. The large-sized touch screen of the device appealed to numerous consumers, along with the generous subsidies provided by network providers.

On the other hand, the iPhone 5 of Apple was released into the market on September 21, which was in the last part of the third quarter. Despite its late release, around six million units of the device were delivered by Apple and it is expected to out-deliver the Samsung Galaxy S3 by the fourth quarter. This may allow Apple to take back the title of the most popular smartphone in the market.  A recent statement from Apple indicated that iPhone sales have reached 26.9 million in the quarter although it did not specify the number each model had sold.

As the Samsung Galaxy S3 continues to remain popular in the smartphone market, a new model with a much bigger storage space, a 64GB Samsung Galaxy S3,  is set to be released by the South Korean company in the later part of the year.

Samsung recently allayed concerns on the possibility that it will not be offering the device in a much bigger storage option after it revealed that the new model of the smartphone will be released within the year. However it appears that the 64GB Samsung Galaxy S3 may be initially released into the international market, which would leave out US consumers for the moment.

According to the company, the 64GB Samsung Galaxy S3 will have staggered release dates although it did not specify the release dates themselves and which markets it will be released into. Prior to the announcement that a 64GB Samsung Galaxy S3 will be released by the company, its market share has already increased with the release of the 16GB as well as the 32GB models of the smartphone. With the upcoming release of the 64GB Samsung Galaxy S3, the market share of the company is expected to increase further.

Analysts recently revealed that around fifty million smartphone units were sold by Samsung for the second quarter of the year due to the demand for its latest flagship smartphone.

JK Shin, the telecommunications head of Samsung, revealed last month that sales of the Galaxy S3 are expected to reach ten million for the month of July. But Shin did not specify if it were actual consumer sales or simply deliveries to its retailers.

Following its introduction into the European market, the Galaxy S3 was made available through four major US-based mobile service providers. The smartphone has a price tag of around $200 and $250 for the 16GB and 32GB models respectively through AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon. On the other hand, T-Mobile is offering the device at $280 and $330 for the 16GB and the 32GB models respectively. The price of the 64GB Samsung Galaxy S3 may be higher due to its bigger storage space.

However it remains uncertain how the 64GB Samsung Galaxy S3 will perform in the market particularly with the possible release of the iPhone 5 in the later part of the year.

Release Date Of Samsung Galaxy S3 Postponed To July 12 By Verizon

Even as the Samsung Galaxy S3 is already being offered by three major US-based mobile service providers, Verizon has reportedly pushed back the release date of the latest flagship smartphone from Samsung to July 12 from the initial release schedule of July 10.

T-Mobile, Sprint and AT&T are already offering the Samsung Galaxy S3 even as the said device will also be offered by US Cellular and C Spire soon.

Although the website of Verizon showed that the device will become available online by July 12, pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S3 is reportedly on track as reports have indicated that some consumers already received the smartphone while others were informed that the device was already on its way.

The 16GB model of the Samsung Galaxy S3 will be sold by Verizon at around $200 while the 32GB model will be priced at about $250. These prices include a two-year service contract. The prices are also similar to the prices of the Samsung Galaxy S3 offerings of Sprint and AT&T.

On the other hand, T-Mobile is offering the 16GB and 32GB models of the Samsung Galaxy S3 at a price tag of around $280 and $330 respectively despite the rebate offered for the devices. However the value plan offer by the mobile service provider will supposedly give the smartphone more value over the cost compared to those offered by its rivals according to a representative from the mobile service provider.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 offered in the US market will feature a dual-core processor, Super AMOLED HD display measuring 4.8 inches and a resolution of 1280 by 720, an eight-megapixel camera and 4G LTE network support. The South Korean company expects sales to surpass the ten million unit level within the month of July and is considered as the main rival to the iPhone of Apple.

Even as Samsung is facing a patent violation lawsuit filed by Apple against the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the Samsung Galaxy Tab, the Samsung Galaxy SIII will be finally released into the US market.

A recent announcement by AT&T revealed that the latest flagship smartphone of the South Korean company will be released into the United States on Friday, July 6.

The Samsung Galaxy SIII will be offered by the US-based mobile service provider at a price tag of $199.99 that requires the typical two-year service contract. The 4G LTE speed of the Samsung Galaxy SIII along with its sleek design, 4.8-inch screen display, notable camera as well as the software that comes with it have earned it good reviews among industry watchers.

Samsung had indicated earlier that global sales of the Samsung Galaxy SIII are projected to reach ten million in July basing on the sales of the smartphone in the European and Asian markets.

Although the specific figures remain uncertain, a number of research companies have hinted at the possibility that sales of Samsung smartphones will increase before the year ends due to the high demand for smartphones in the market.

Following the Samsung Galaxy S3’s availability  in the European market, Chipworks and iFixit did a little “reverse engineering” on the device as it check out the internal components of the latest Samsung smartphone.

The de-construction of the Samsung Galaxy S3 also revealed that the device features a 2100mAh battery, which is significantly bigger compared to the first Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, and the Apple iPhone 4S although it was smaller than the3300mAh battery of the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx.

The teardown of the Samsung Galaxy S3 also showed that the display and the glass are fused together. Although this will increase the cost whenever it will be necessary to replace the display of the device, it uses the Corning Gorilla Glass 2 which increases its resistance from damage even as it maintains its slim design.

Another revelation from the teardown showed that the sensor on the 8MP camera of the Samsung Galaxy S3 is similar to the one used on the Apple iPhone 4S. However it remains to be seen if the Android-powered smartphone will offer similar image quality as the current version of the iPhone.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 also features a 1.9MP camera in front, which is better compared to the VGA camera that is currently being used on the iPhone 4S.

For the moment iFixit has not given the Samsung Galaxy S3 a ‘repairability score’ although this may be made available in the future.

Recent reports have indicated that the Samsung Galaxy S3 will be released into the US market before the end of the month. So consumers who are not keen on importing the international version of the smartphone, which will be incompatible to the 4G LTE networks of US carriers, will just have to wait for a little while longer before they can finally get their hands on this much-anticipated Samsung smartphone.

Even as the Samsung Galaxy S3 is already available in a number of markets including Europe, it appears that its release into the United States market remains uncertain.

However recent reports have hinted of the possible availability of the latest Samsung smartphone by summer through T-Mobile. Reports have indicated that the Samsung Galaxy S3 may be released soon by Samsung according to TmoNews, which reportedly acquired a release calendar that shows the some handset that will be released by the US-based mobile service provider.

Among the handsets that were listed on the release calendar was the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S3.

If the reports turn out to be accurate, the Samsung Galaxy S3 may find its way to US consumers by June 20, which is the first day of summer. The release calendar revealed that the Pebble Blue model of the much-anticipated smartphone from Samsung will be the first one to be released. This particular model of the Samsung Galaxy S3 will have two storage options, the 16GB and 32GB models.

The 16GB model of the Marble White Samsung Galaxy S3 will reportedly be released after around three weeks. Although no price tag was indicated, some observers have hinted at a possible price tag of $199 and $249 for the two storage options which will come with a two-year service contract.

In addition to the Samsung Galaxy S3, the Samsung Galaxy Note of T-Mobile will also be released by July 11. AT&T initially had an exclusive right for this device and it may provide an increase in sales once T-Mobile includes it in its smartphone lineup.

An official announcement is expected to be made by Samsung once the release schedule of the Samsung Galaxy S3 in the US is finalized. The announcement may be made for all the versions of the device even though the release dates for the different mobile service providers are not the same.

It appears that preparations for the Samsung Galaxy SIII was not limited to the device itself since a number of accessories were also being prepared by the company.

The Samsung Galaxy SIII features the latest version of the Android OS, the Ice Cream Sandwich Android OS. Some of these accessories include a desktop dock, protective covers, an MP3 player and wireless chargers.

A capacitive stylus pen was also being offered for the Samsung Galaxy SIII which has been dubbed as the C pen. Some industry watchers have indicated that the C pen will likely be quite useful on the 4.8-inch display of the device. Prior to the Samsung Galaxy SIII, the Samsung Galaxy Note also featured a stylus pen that users can use on the huge display of the smartphone / tablet hybrid device.

It is also expected that more accessories will be released for the Samsung Galaxy SIII due to its Bluetooth 4.0 and near field technology or NFC support. These upcoming accessories for the Samsung Galaxy SIII will likely be designed to for use at home and at work.

Aside from unveiling the Samsung Galaxy SIII, the South Korean company has reportedly released additional details about the development of its media services. The last time the Music Hub and the Video Hub of Samsung was discussed was last February when the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 was unveiled.

The online service of Samsung will reportedly come with features that can go up against the iTunes Match of Apple. It will allow users to scan songs into the hard drive of their device and give recommendations on tracks found on its library. The Music Hub of Samsung reportedly has around 17 million songs available and has a monthly charge of around $10 for a single device while four devices will entail a monthly charge of around $13 each month.
